Today I’ve been learning about: Suicide, and why we do it.
Diogenes of Sinope, A Greek philosopher who was one of the founders of Cynic Philosophy, was asked this question:
“What is the difference between life and death?”
“No difference.” Diogenes replied
“Well then, why do you remain in this life?”
“Because there is no difference.”
Since we do not know, with absolute certainty, what is waiting for us in the afterlife, why would we hasten the process in the off chance it is better than this life?
At least in this life we have the ability to change things for the better.
Just a thought.
Beard of Knowledge
This blog is the (almost) daily progress of my beard, and the (almost) daily progress of my mind.
I will attempt to write one passage of what I am thinking about each and every day!*
